In the first quarter of this year, only Apple announced that it would come up with a TV series of this sort. But the company that time did not share many details except that music artist Will.i.am, TV executives Ben Silverman and Howard T. Owens will be part of this upcoming TV show. Obviously, except a vague idea that a TV show on Apple’s app Store is going to be a reality soon, we had no specific idea of how the show is going to be.

His idea was to deliver something like the American Idol of the tech world, as revealed now by Ben. As per the co-producer Prospect, any app selected must be available for non-consecutive shooting sessions in Los Angeles between the end of this year and early next year. As for applying, contestants must have a fully functional iOS, macOS, tvOS or watchOS app developed latest by October 21. Beta versions will also be considered.
We cannot expect to see the trailers before a few months from now. Except being available across all Apple platforms, it is not clear whether the show would be chosen by traditional TV, cable networks and streaming services like Netflix.

There are certain constraints and rules that developers and would-be contestants need to know. Any interested developer who is a legal resident of the U.S. should apply before and on 26th of August this year. The potential contestants need to submit their application video within this specified date. After applying with app video as would be contestants the applicants must be ready with their fully functional or Beta app for iOS, macOS, tvOS, or watchOS platform by 21st October.
